Jim and Lisa Stowers

Lisa Stowers, along with her husband Jim, transitioned from Washington state where they worshipped the Lord at Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church and by His leading are now at SonRise.

They both have served the Lord through various mission trips and outreach opportunities and are active members in the Mission Committee at SonRise. We are so thankful that Lisa sensed the Lord’s timing in accepting the nomination of Deacon.

Steffan and Julie Pyle

Steffan & Julie have served with New Tribes Mission Aviation for about 19 years. They started in Venezuela; then, in 2007, moved to Asia-Pacific where they have served along with their children Abby, Ethan and Isaac.

Steffan is a helicopter pilot supporting New Tribes Mission (recently renamed Ethnos360). The following link can take you to their mission’s website for more information: https://ethnos360.org/

The following is the web page for NTM Aviation: http://ntm-aviation.org/

Their focus is on planting churches in the least reached parts of the world. For the Pyle family, that takes them to Asia Pacific, where they have lived for the last ten years. Steffan has also served as the chief pilot and program manager.

In the last ten years, they have seen significant growth in the churches they support. One tribe in particular has grown so much that they are seeing them continue with further outreach to other neighboring tribes. They are also growing as a church as they continue with outreach to their own people as well.

You can read more about Steffan & Julie’s ministry here: http://ntm-aviation.org/news/the-helicopter-is-landing-here

The Pyle family is currently in New York as they are on a one year home assignment. The Pyle’s are looking at a future of training missionary pilots at Moody Aviation. They will also be mentoring nationals from Asia Pacific (where they have been serving) in missionary aviation. – New Tribes Aviation: http://ntm-aviation.org/

Jerome Marroquin

It has been my great joy and privilege to serve as senior pastor at SonRise since 2008.

I first began my ministry here in 1990 as the Associate Pastor of Family Ministries back in the days when we were known as the Fallbrook Presbyterian Church. In July of 1985, I married my wife, Terri, who was one of my best friends and a fellow student at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. After receiving my M.Div in Theology from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena in ’86, we went on to welcome four children into our family: Bethany, Josiah, Micah, and Caleb. They are truly the joy of our lives and our most cherished blessing from the Lord. Terri and I are the proud grandparents of Addy and Luke (Josiah and Lynette’s children), and for over eight years now, we readily and happily answer to our new names: “Nana” and “Papa Rome!”

SonRise has been our family for over thirty-five years now, and this church will always be “home” to us. A more loving and caring community of brothers and sisters in Christ you truly will not find, and I consider myself extraordinarily blessed to be called to shepherd the Lord’s flock here.

But most importantly, I am a passionate follower of Jesus, and every day the “upside down” good news of the Gospel continues to blow my mind and fill my soul with awe!

Greg Coppock

I have been attending this church since 1988. I have been blessed to serve the Lord as a part of the Praise and Worship Team, Elder, Director of Adult Christian Education, Associate Pastor, and Administrative Pastor over these many years.

I am humbled to serve the Lord along side some of the most amazing people in the world. I know them as friends and one of them is my wife and I am so happy to know them as brothers and sisters in Christ. I am truly amazed and so thankful that the Lord allows me to sing his praises with my daughter and sometimes with two daughters nearly every Sunday.

I can say that I have seen the God of all creation do miraculous things here at SonRise and am looking forward to what He has next as we follow Him obediently. We are all part of His Body of Christ and love that He has called us together for a time such as this!

Banning Cantarini

Hello! I’m Banning! I’ve been privileged to be a part of SonRise Christian Fellowship for 20 years, and it’s truly been a blessing to serve the Fallbrook area. I’m passionate about teaching, building community, and helping both the people and the church become who God has called them to be. My heart is for strengthening families, deepening faith, and creating spaces where people can grow together in Christ.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Theology from Vanguard University and my Master of Divinity from Fuller Seminary. While those years of study shaped my passion for ministry, nothing compares to seeing God work in real-life relationships and everyday moments.

Outside of church, you’ll likely find me adventuring with my amazing wife, Brittany, and our incredible daughter, Blythe. Whether it’s fishing, playing music, or obsessing over our beloved sports teams (Go Padres!!!), the Cantarini’s love to enjoy life and make memories together!

Favorite Verse: 1 Samuel 16:7: “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Beth Ann Murray

Beth Ann worked as the Director of our preschool from August 1994 until August 2020, 26 years.

In 2015, Beth Ann expanded her role to include SonRise’s Children’s Ministry Pastor. In 2020 she transferred the preschool responsibilities to Jenny Anderson and has been the Children’s Ministry Pastor for a total of 10 years to the present.

Beth Ann served the church as Moderator of the Deacons and has coordinated with the Elders each year of her tenure.

Beth Ann has an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Tidewater Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University in Virginia with a teaching credential for children Kindergarten through Twelfth grade. In addition, she has 15 units specifically in Early Childhood Education. As part of her continuing education she has completed a twelve-month program at KidMin Academy and has been designated as a certified minister for Children’s Ministry from infancy to eighth grade.
She taught eighth grade for several years in Virginia and has taught several years here at SonRise Christian Preschool.

Beth Ann has been married to her husband T.J. for 43 years. They have a single child, Coleman, who is married (wife Dayna) and in July 2019 Beth Ann’s family was blessed with their first grandchild, Layton Cade Murray. And then again our favorite girl Emersyn Claire was born March 16, 2022.

Shayli Benner

Hi I’m Shayli!

I started going to this church as a little girl and grew up in and around it throughout the twists and turns of life.

After graduating college in Oregon with a Bachelors degree in psychology and minor in music, I moved back home and was blessed to join the SonRise team!
I was also so blessed to meet my husband here while working in the youth ministry and now we have two beautiful daughters that are our world!
After 10 years here my roles have changed and adapted, but my goal has always been to bring us all into a place of authentic worship and praise through music.

I’m humbled and honored to be a part of that mission!

I have worked at the church for over 20 years and have seen the Lord do some very beautiful things! I am the custodian at SonRise and the Pastor of Fuente de Vida which meets in the Chapel on Sundays. God bless you all!
